Invitation to present
FIU’s Office of Research and Economic Development is pleased to offer a limited number of professional development travel awards annually to postdoctoral scholars who have completed at least six months at FIU. Funds, which will be awarded on a competitive basis, may be used to travel to national or international meetings to present research papers or posters.
Travel awards may not exceed $500 for domestic travel or $750 for international travel. Applicants must provide written documentation of invitation from meeting organizers to present research paper or poster and demonstrate availability of matching funds from grants or other departmental or research center resources.
Applications
Applications for travel awards will be accepted on a rolling basis.
A postdoctoral scholar may receive only one travel award per academic year, as funding is limited.

Upon completion of travel, award recipients are required to submit brief reports of impact of attendance on their research, scholarship, or other professional development goals.
Priority will be given to applications demonstrating the highest potential for disseminating cutting-edge research in a platform setting highly visible to potential future employers or funding agencies.
